Building the brand

At the age of 16 I remember getting my first job at Target. I was so excited. "Finally, I can make my own money." I thought to myself. I can buy the things I want and do the things I wish, no more relying on my Aunt (who raised me) to buy me things anymore! I worked there for 6 years. All the way thru high school and most part of my college years.
As I got older, I thought to myself that I didn't really want to work for "the man" for the rest of my life. I mean, even in my profession, whatever I would go to college for, I just didn't see myself working for someone for the REST OF MY LIFE. Then again, I thought about me and my personality. I'm a very self sufficient individual, independent, I can survive in any situation. I could practically find ways of surviving if I was left on a desert island. (Okay, a little overboard but you get the picture lol) I thought to myself that I wanted to be "the man" and have my own employees, set my own rules and regulations that would make people happy as workers and always want to come back the next day rather than feeling miserable to come to work each day. Although, I was only part time, I didn't really experience the whole 9 to 5, 40 hours a week thing.
But I could see the misery on the full time workers faces each day they worked. I remember people losing their jobs over the most silliest reasons. As I got older and went off to college, I realized I loved the leadership role. I directed a play my sophomore year in college and always wanted to set the example and be the professional person. I had the desire to want to do the right thing, treat people with respect and enjoy doing whatever it was I was doing. Now, 4 years later, that desire to own my own business fell in love thru fashion design.
My own company, my own brand, being very selective in what I choose to represent it, keeping in mind that quality over quantity is better ANYDAY and working with people that enjoy doing what I do. Im very eager to gain the experience as I take this adventure. I don't know where it's taking me but I hope for a bright future ahead. I've just got to keep at it. I've got the faith! Team V'WEAR!
