2012! A Long time coming!

Its almost that time. I must say it truly has been a long time coming. I remember first stepping on campus at the first University I attended. I was eager, nervous and excited to get started. I was more so nervous than anything. I constantly thought to myself "Can I really do this? Can I make it through a college university?" WOW.
Being a first generation college graduate is quite an accomplishment. I remember when high school was coming to an end and it being senior year. My high schools guidance counselor was horrible on helping students look for colleges to apply for. (How ironic, right?) I didn't know what the heck I was doing as far as applying for colleges, so I applied to a few for kinks.
I applied to East Tennessee State University because it was away from Nashville, about 4 hours. It gave me an outlet to get away from where I was from. It also offered me a full ride scholarship. I thought to myself "Hey, not bad for not knowing anything about college." LOL. I still remember questioning myself, thinking, "Am I really college material? Will I have the drive and work ethic to start and finish college?"
I attend E.T.S.U which is predominately an all white institution and I major in design. What the hell was I thinking? I couldn't do the things I was interested in, acting, modeling, whatever it was. I do well in the department. I actually enjoyed the studies. But the city the school was in, was too small and too boring.
I jumped in a little too fast not really thinking about much. I just remember wanting to go to college because in this day and age its sort of a trend to go to college after high school. Even though you dont have to go to college to be successful these days. So I end up not liking the area the school is in and after 2 years at the school I transfer to Tennessee State University, which is back home in Nashville. When I come back home, T.S.U is cool. I end up changing my major as well to Theater.
Here is where I start acting, modeling, designing, directing, producing, filming, the list can go on lol. My career really takes off from here. (Meet The Browns Movie, Meet The Browns TV Series- 2008). All this I couldn't have been accomplished without the guidance of God and not moving away. Im so glad I moved. So glad. I star'd in 8 local student films in Nashville (2008-2011), which gave me practice on my acting skills.
I also ended up directing and filming some music videos for local music artists (2010-2011), had a performance internship at a professional Theatre (2010), directed a staged show at school (2009), booked my first S.A.G commercial (2010) which gives me the option to join The Screen Actors Guild! Just to name a few. :) All this, I give credit to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! And now look me: A senior in college, about to graduate in 7 weeks with his own clothing line that officially launches in a few weeks (V'WEAR) and could possibly have a gig going on tour with a professional theater company after graduation! My God. He is blessing me so much. Nothing but grace. When I walk across that stage May 5th, 2012 at 9:00AM it will be the HAPPIEST day of MY LIFE! Wheww, okay Im done. :)
